JAMB CAPS: How to Check & Accept Admission Offers
The Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is the only official statutory platform established by JAMB to process, verify, and validate all tertiary institution admissions in Nigeria. Even if a university publishes your name on its internal merit list, your admission is not legally recognized until accepted on JAMB CAPS.
Step-by-Step: How to Access JAMB CAPS on Mobile or Desktop
- Visit the official JAMB e-Facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng.
- Log in with your registered email address and JAMB password.
- If using a mobile browser (Chrome/Safari), switch to "Desktop Site" mode in browser settings to reveal the full sidebar menu.
- Click on the "Check Admission Status" tab.
- Select your examination year, enter your JAMB registration number, and click on "Access My CAPS".
Understanding CAPS Status Messages
Your target university has not uploaded or screened your profile yet. Continue monitoring.
The institution has recommended your profile to JAMB; final regulatory verification is underway.
Official admission is ready. You must click "ACCEPT" within the designated timeframe or the offer will lapse.
Handling Program Transfer Approvals
If a university recommends you for an alternative course (e.g. Zoology instead of Medicine), check the "Transfer Approval" tab on CAPS. You must accept the transfer on CAPS before the university can officially offer you admission.
