JAMB UTME Subject Combinations Guide for All Courses
1. Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences
For Medicine & Surgery, Nursing Science, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography, and Physiotherapy, the compulsory 4 UTME subjects are:
1. Use of English (Compulsory)
2. Biology
3. Chemistry
4. Physics
Note: A few universities (e.g. UNILORIN, UNILAG, UI) strictly require Mathematics at O'Level alongside the core sciences, but in UTME, Biology + Chemistry + Physics is universal.
2. Faculty of Engineering & Technology
For Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Civil, Chemical, Computer Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering:
1. Use of English
2. Mathematics
3. Physics
4. Chemistry
3. Faculty of Law
For Common Law, Civil Law, and Islamic Law:
1. Use of English
2. Literature in English (Mandatory at most universities)
3. Government / History / CRS / IRS
4. Any other Arts or Social Science subject (e.g., Economics, Christian Religious Studies)
4. Faculty of Social & Management Sciences
- Accounting / Banking & Finance: English, Mathematics, Economics, plus one of Commerce, Government, or Accounting.
- Business Administration / Management: English, Mathematics, Economics, plus one Arts/Social Science subject.
- Economics: English, Mathematics, Economics, plus Government or Geography.
- Mass Communication: English, Literature in English, plus any two Social Science/Arts subjects (e.g. Government, Economics, CRS).
5. Faculty of Sciences & Computing
- Computer Science: English, Mathematics, Physics, and one of Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science.
- Biochemistry / Microbiology: English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- Geology: English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology.
